Sydney Restaurant Group has officially launched its newest online platform catering to all those who appreciate a fine wine! We invite you on a journey to discover, learn and shop all things wine.
SRG Wine Academy
The SRG Wine Academy is providing the opportunity for you to learn from the industry’s best and earn world class Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) qualifications in wine. Open to all levels, whether you are curious to learn a little about wine making and tasting as a new hobby, or you’re an industry professional wanting to upskill, the SRG Wine Academy has a course suited to you. As an Australian first, the SRG Wine Academy is even offering ‘Gourmet’ Level 1 and 2 courses which include a 3 course meal that is matched to the wines tasted in class. This provides students the opportunity to learn about wine in a holistic way, with both theory and practical elements.
SRG Wine Club
This club has members subscribe to receive wine packs delivered straight to their door. The wines are selected by Sydney Restaurant Group’s best sommeliers and is a constantly changing offering to showcase the restaurant’s most exciting wines. Once you become a member you will also receive various benefits from Sydney Restaurant Group and be invited to exclusive wine events. These events will be held across an array of the group’s venues overlooking Sydney Harbour, hosting some of the world’s best winemakers who will attend and share their stories. It also provides a great opportunity to mingle and get to know like-minded people from a passionate local wine community. The wine club will also arrange trips to visit the winemakers at their vineyards in person.
SRG Wine Shop
If joining the club sounds like too much of a commitment for now, you are welcomed to shop the world’s greatest wines, usually reserved only for restaurant lists, via the SRG Wine Shop as a casual purchase.
Why SRG Wine?
Sydney Restaurant Group’s sommelier team have a personal connection with local and international winemakers and have built ongoing relationships since the opening of the flagship venue Aqua Dining in the year 2000. Group General Manager & Group Sommelier Ben Cummings has been working on this project for some time and is thrilled to finally be able to offer his expertise to the public and grow a wine community to share his passion with.
“SRG Wine has been a passion project for me. There are plenty of online wine stores out there but what makes us different is our access to wines that are not usually available to the public. We are offering a more premium sommelier selected range, often direct from the wineries and producers themselves. We know what people love because we serve wines to our guests in the venues every day. These purchases can be enjoyed casually at home, poured to impress dinner guests, or cellared for a special occasion.”
